Threesome (magnetic fields) The exhibition brings together the artistic positions of Joana da Conceição and Joana Escoval, two artists whose works explore the boundaries of human perception, sensory experience and consciousness. In her works, Conceição creates a dialogue between image and sound, which often takes the form of immersive installations. Developed from colour, light, acoustic rhythms and rotating patterns, these audiovisual spaces question the notion that the eye provides central access to understanding reality. Rather, they invite us to approach the world in a more open, holistic and sensuous way. Joana Escoval works with an expanded concept of sculpture to reflect on our relationship to the world. Her works unfold in arrangements of elements reminiscent of constellations, which can evoke energy conductors, circuits or energy pathways. In this way, Escoval understands life as an interconnected web of forces and synergies. Her subtle yet powerful gestures draw attention to the often invisible forces that shape life on our planet. Starting from the understanding of the human body as permeable and connected, rather than isolated and self-contained, Threesome (magnetic fields) creates a relational system between two artistic positions. Together, the works form an experiential space that invites us to explore and expand our perceptual capacities. Images, bodies and sounds together create a space of continuous transformation, comparable to magnetic fields in a process of alchemical transformation. Sound is the central force that permeates the entire exhibition and shapes a landscape with cosmic undertones, in which the micro, the macro and the pixelated merge into one another.
