I Am a Wanderer in My Heart is a collective exhibition curated by Théo-Mario Coppola. The title of the exhibition comes from a line in a poem by Rabindranath Tagore. The poem captures existential and contradictory longings as well as the challenges faced by those trapped in their inner conflicts. The exhibition brings together artworks and practices from diverse geocultural backgrounds, each offering a unique perspective on thwarted desires, inner conflicts, and the erotic impulse. Théo-Mario Coppola examines, from a transhistorical and transgeographic perspective, the stories of those whose lives have been marked by adversity, and illustrates how each practice and form of desire is rooted in specific circumstances. The curatorial approach also seeks to identify commonalities, tensions, and differentiating patterns based on people's lived experiences.
