buzz.city shows what's happening in Vienna – on an interactive map instead of endless lists. Concerts, theater, markets, cinema, sights and the neighborhoods (Grätzl) in between: see at a glance what's on near you today.

The best part: you keep stumbling upon things you never knew existed – and would never have searched for.

Who's behind this

Hi, I'm Reinhard, a UX designer from Vienna. buzz.city is my passion project – I build it alongside my day job, with no team and no investors. Just a lot of attention to detail and the conviction that this city deserves a better discovery map.

It all started with an everyday annoyance: to find out what's on today, you have to comb through ten different sites – magazines, venue websites, Instagram, ticket portals. And social feeds only show what an algorithm thinks is popular anyway. The small concert two streets away never shows up there. That's exactly what I wanted to change.

What I believe in

• Discovery, not search. The map shows what fits you in space and time – not what an algorithm thinks is popular.
• The whole city. Culture doesn't just happen downtown. On buzz.city, the neighborhood festival and the Staatsoper are equally visible – on the same map.
• A bridge, not a feed. buzz.city doesn't want to be an app you get stuck in. It's meant to get you out the door – to real encounters at real events.

Where this is going

Vienna is just the beginning. In the long run, buzz.city is meant to open up cities across Europe – in many languages, so visitors can discover a city beyond the tourist trails too. But one thing at a time: first, buzz.city will become the most beautiful and complete map of Vienna.

buzz.city aggregates publicly available information from a range of Viennese sources. Each event, neighbourhood and film page names the source(s) its information comes from.

Film titles, descriptions and posters are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
