Kooperacje
Wood, metal, glass, ceramics, paper and textile enter into dialogue: Six Polish craft duos demonstrate how connecting different materials and techniques creates new perspectives on contemporary craftsmanship. As part of the 20th edition of the Vienna Design Week (VDW), the Gallery of the Polish Institute presents the exhibition 'KOOPERACJE'. It showcases the results of a project involving six craft duos from Poland – members of the association 'Nów. New Craftsmanship'. The project aimed to bring together artists working with different materials and techniques – including wood, metal, glass, ceramics, paper and textile. In traditional craftsmanship, objects are usually created from a single material, the one each person specializes in. 'KOOPERACJE' breaks this principle: here, different disciplines meet on equal footing, and the materials enter into an open dialogue with one another. The collaborative work becomes an experiment – an exploration of possibilities, limits and new connections. Different artistic languages merge into objects that surprise through their materiality, their forms and their sensory presence. The exhibition not only presents unique works, but also makes the creative process visible: the exchange of ideas, mutual learning and the emergence of new perspectives. 'KOOPERACJE' stands for a contemporary understanding of craftsmanship – open, collaborative and interdisciplinary. The works in the 'KOOPERACJE' exhibition were created thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Institute for the Creative Economy's own programme: 'Development of the Creative Industries'. Exhibition tour with designer Jakub Przyborowski and presentation of his furniture project: Fri., 2 October, 5 p.m. Participating duos: Agata Marchlewicz / Jakub Święcicki Anna Bera / P55 Mirrors Monika Dąbrowska-Picewicz / B
